Why we build Windship.

An engineer's question, a factory that could answer it, and a belief about which ships deserve the wind first.

It started with weight.

Simon Rogers spent 30 years in marine propulsion before he asked a simple question: why can't the ships that carry the world's iron ore, grain and crude use the wind the way ships always did?

The answer was weight. The sails being built were too heavy for the decks those ships already had.

So he designed one that wasn't. Three wings instead of one. Composite instead of steel. Light enough for a working bulker, powerful enough to matter.

Great designs still need someone to build them. ShapeShift has manufactured precision composites for more than 25 years, on 350+ projects across 18 countries. When the two teams met, it was obvious: Windship had the sail the working fleet needed, and ShapeShift had the factory to make it real.

We believe the wind that built global trade should carry it again. Not on a handful of showcase ships, but across the working fleet: the bulk carriers, tankers and heavy-lift vessels that move the world's raw materials every day.

Built for the ships that exist. Rendering.
  • Build for the ships that exist

We design for retrofit on real decks, not for concept ships.

  • Show our working

Every performance claim links to who tested it and how.

  • Make it, don't just draw it

Design, materials and manufacturing sit under one roof.

  • Earn trust one ship at a time

We start with one launch partner and prove it at sea.

The people behind the rig.

  • Jarrad MorganChief Executive Officer

25+ years founding and building complex composite manufacturing and construction businesses.

  • Simon RogersTechnical Director and Inventor

30+ years in marine propulsion engineering. Inventor of the Windship rig; led the DNV Approval in Principle programme.

  • Robert KennedyProject Director

Leads Windship's commercial programme: shipowner and investor engagement, launch partner terms and rig pricing with the factory in Batam. A company director and co-founder in commercial construction, Rob brings years of running contracts and delivering technically complex building projects. He is Windship's first contact for investors and launch partners in Singapore and the region.

Made in Batam, 20 km from Singapore.

Every Windship rig is built in ShapeShift's composites facility in the Batam Special Economic Zone, in ShapeShell RT, on the doorstep of the world's busiest bunkering port.

We're looking for the first fleet.

An owner or operator who shares our belief and wants their vessels to be the ones the rest of the industry studies.
